My mother would have seen these as a young teenager, and if she kept on into the late '30s I would have seen some of them too I suppose. I do remember Helen Hokinson (sp?)

Yes, Hokinson was also a wonderful artist. Less feminist in her work.

And even realizing it at the time, I was able to laugh at Helen's depictions of the part of my family I did not treasure being around:-)
