Watched closely the first 15 minutes, laughed our loud about 25 minutes in, and a few more times. From there, it was entertaining until it got boring because commentators struggled to contain him, while being very tactful.
Absolutely awesome capture of the debate Liza! Kamala pushed his buttons, and he took the bait! I didn’t like that as the moderators were introducing a new topic, Trump insisted on spewing more lies…AND THEY LET HIM! I wanted them to cut him off! Kamala seemed cool, confident, and clear on her message!
Donna, I believe the way these two moderators handled the situations with him was pretty cool. They called him out on his biggest lies, right from the beginning. During the debate, when he kept talking, they allowed him, but then corrected his bull 🐂 💩 on the important stuff, but didn’t bother taking the time to resurrect him on his repeated statements on the same lie. They definitely did a much better job than the CNN folks did.
But, Kamala Harris owned him right from the introduction. She had him, and every answer she gave, was superb, and then she wiggled a bit if bait at him and he pounded in the bait. She kept him off point all night long.
Liza, here's how I would advise Kamala to answer: "Are Americans better off today than four years ago?" "Yes, some are, especially millionaires and billionaires. Others are still suffering from the results of the pandemic. Here's my plan forward...."
Don't forget that 80% of Americans say they've already decided. Both sides got what they want.
We wanted someone cool, intelligent, and lucid. We got it. Trump's people wanted hate, and they got it. The question is how the 20% were affected. We still have a lot of work to do. At least the country (those who watched) now know who Kamala is.
Kamala did well. But she did not answer a couple of questions, Trump didn't answer any. People who use the reason that they don't know enough about how she would be as President make me shake my head. Because I've seen Trump on tv and X almost every day for 8 years and I certainly know he is not presidential, never was and seems to be getting more unstable. So, vote for the lady.
Some elements spoke for themselves and if people don’t read, research at all nor pick up on patterns there simple may never be enough information for them.
I loved the format where both were on the screen at the same time. Her reactions to trump's stream of lies were priceless.
The idea of "muted mics" however went very awry. The "moderators" should have just turned the mic off, not let trump go on and on and on over objections. I did like that they called out his most outrageous lies.
I watched it on NBC, who did a very good job of fact checking. The word "false" was used freely with trump. They provided good context in explaining why it was false.
Liza, this debate tonight was the best I’ve ever seen. In my 72+ years, I’ve not seen any better. The contrast between the two was evident right from the introduction. She ‘cornered’ him behind his podium to shake his hand and tell him the proper pronunciation of her name.
Kamala owned Trump the entire debate. He couldn’t even get on the defense with her, and never, ever, had his offense on the field. Final score tonight. Kamala Harris 100, Trump 0!
Harris was masterful tonight. It was like she had red, customed, red leather boxing gloves on and pummeled Trump a good 30 min of their encounter and strategically so.
I’m bet trump will not go for another debate. He was a whipped whip tonight.
