At any given moment, this view had an assortments of birds vying for the pillar and the floating thingys. I drew these guys, two seagulls and two cormorants. This is in Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, where I’ve also seen osprey, herons, terns, pelicans and peregrin falcons. So great.
Here is the final drawing. I took out the boat in the background, it seemed to crowd the drawing.

I liked your decision to take the boat out but to balance the post the bird is sitting on, perhaps a small land indentation on the upper left. I am in awe of how you draw. Yesterday you started with a person's leg curled and went from there. I would have no idea how to specially lay out the image. Probably why I stick to photography. So much easier.

Because you show us the original, and then the final drawing, I can see why you removed the boat. It has a completely different feel, leaving the water only to the birds. Even without a caption, it’s a lovely drawing. Makes me think of “Summer’s End,” one of John Prine’s last songs.
