I saw my first Bruce concert at the small beautiful local Smith Opera House in Geneva NY in 1973. I loved his endorsement ad too! And of course your drawings

Springsteen and Obama did a great series of conversations together. Renegades, born in the USA 😎

Liza, like your drawing, so many Americans may be asleep about the dangers of the approaching election. They don't realize that like nature's "spontaneous combustion" Trump represents "spontaneous corruption."

love the Springsteen statement. Quite apart from his autocratic and oligarchic tendencies, trump thrives on, depends on, division, and division based on baseless fears. THAT is what our country cannot survive

Not trolling here, but: I never liked Bruce Springsteen. There: I said it and I'm glad. Still, if he nudges a few voters toward Harris, well, it's all good.

You're not wrong about the firefighter's union. Trump (and Rs) are anti-union. A democratic endorsement should be in the bag. They endorsed Joe AND Barack, but withheld endorsement of Kamala AND Hillary. Hmmm....I wonder what the connecting thread is...

It's so disheartening. We have so far to go.

I just finished the book: Dying of Politeness by Geena Davis. Really fascinating. Her institute on gender studies does amazing work. There's a passage where she goes to studio execs about gender representation in children's shows (which were, at the time, mostly male). They didn't even see it until it was pointed out. One anecdote relayed a content creator saying he'd drawn a scene in a diner in which every character was male. "I'm the problem!" he admitted.

We need more enlightened people. Keep saying the truth. Someone will see it.

Glad to hear I’m not alone in that presumption. But sad.

Yes! I enjoyed Geenas book. I have done work with them, cartoons- her Gender institute has done tremendous work.

I googled your two names together and found lots of your cartoons posted by the institute! It was so generous of you to offer them. Thank you for shining a light!

You're not wrong about the firefighter's Union, though I suspect their reluctance is steeped in repulsion for women who subvert the dominant narrative rather than skin color.

I love your people, Liza. This one in that calm pose has the effect of inducing calm.

Bruce Springsteen represents the decency inherent in those earlier referred to as the working class - something I always considered a great compliment- and still do. Infinitely more than the so-called ‘upper class’, by and large bored adolescents throughout their lives and rightly thought of as generally tedious.

Love your drawing. Maybe he needed a brain break! I wasn't on a train but out walking my beagle and supporting our local humane society. at a mutt strut. One squirrel sighting and I went flying through the air as he gave chase. Good thing his harness is really strong - me not so much. We both came home and also took a brain break! Love Bruce Springsteen. I think he is on to something about people not supporting women as leaders.
