I love this drawing. I have read that interactions like this one are very important for our mental health. Interactions with our loved ones are obviously very important, but during the pandemic, the interactions with other people we shopped with or greeted briefly on the street were lacking, and that led to a feeling of isolation and depression.
What a lovely way to spend the day Liza! City life at its best I think. The neighborhood society. One of those things that consoled me when we moved from NYC to Philadelphia were the street vendors, those faces you recognized and people you got to know - running during lunch in one direction or another on errands.
We live on 9th Avenue and we have a sweet and kind fresh produce man right outside our building...David...from I think Turkistan. His English is superb and now he's teaching himself Spanish for his Latin American customers. His wares come from all over the world to please many cultures. These guys are so much a part of our urban lives, and so New York. Thanks for honoring them, Liza.

Thanks, Kathleen. When I first moved to the city, they didn't have these vegetable providers on the side of the street. Now, I love seeing them.
It's unusual for you to use so much color, right? You nailed it on this drawing Liza, it is heartfelt and joyful.
I think you are right! Thank you, D.L.!
