I sat in the middle of midtown Manhattan with a coffee and watched a fruit stand man sell his wares on 9th avenue. I loved the interactions, it seemed he knew many of his customers. Here is the drawing and video capture, done on my iPhone.
I read about the trial today a bit. I think the prosecution is slowly setting up its case. There was an at times contentious back and forth this morning with Trump’s lawyer Blanche and Judge Merchan about the gag order violations. But last I read, there was no new ruling from Merchan on more recent violations. Trump has already been ordered to pay $9,000 in fees for breaking the gag order.
More tomorrow from the courthouse, if all goes well,
Thanks for being here. Happy Thursday!
I love this drawing. I have read that interactions like this one are very important for our mental health. Interactions with our loved ones are obviously very important, but during the pandemic, the interactions with other people we shopped with or greeted briefly on the street were lacking, and that led to a feeling of isolation and depression.
What a lovely way to spend the day Liza! City life at its best I think. The neighborhood society. One of those things that consoled me when we moved from NYC to Philadelphia were the street vendors, those faces you recognized and people you got to know - running during lunch in one direction or another on errands.
