As soon as I boarded the subway, I noticed this beautiful skirt and couldn’t wait to draw it ….and her handsome owner. I should have exaggerated the skirt more! Have a pleasant Sunday, if you can. B, D, F, M are the trains on 6th Ave that are the most common to have the orange seats. I *think* this is because that line was built in conjunction with the 1964 worlds fair, or sometime afterwards, and so it’s cars and stations were the most modern until the more recent renovations. The line and Roosevelt Island, which it serves, have a fabulous 1970’s vibe. 🤩
Liza, you might enjoy THE GUSSET Substack by Sarah Swett. Her drawings make me think of you, and yours of her. Love you both. Thanks for sharing with us.
Lovely. Do you have “BDFM Train Seat Orange” bookmarked as a color for all your subway drawings?
Haha! I do have a orange ready to go, for that reason! But what’s BDFM?

I thought that’s what you meant- however the two lines I ride most often, the A and the 1, have orange seats too!
Ah, indeed. ABDFM1 🚇 😊
What a gift riding with you on the subway today! Already forwarded to my young artists. Love the skirt, and her owner.
(I’m guessing BD is “best damned .... “)
Thank you, Patris!

A little more colour and detail...just a suggestion of its complexity

I could watch you dry all day. What a gift.
Beautifully captured 🙏 for sharing it.
