How to get people to pay attention to what’s going on?
Taylor Swift? In an Instagram post yesterday, she urged her followers “to vote the people who most represent YOU into power. If you haven't already, make a plan to vote today.” I don’t know if this will get young Swifties to vote.
Experts say that right about now, following Super Tuesday, is when Americans start to pay attention to the Presidential election in November. Heather Cox Richardson wrote in her newsletter this morning, “Just as voters don’t appear to know much about what the administration has done to make their lives better, a recent study from a Democratic pollster suggests that voters don’t seem to know much about Trump’s statements attacking democracy. When informed of them, their opinion of Trump falls.” Not everyone is reading the news every hour like I am— I’m scared that we will lose our democracy and have a country run by a hateful, dangerous person. That’s not who we are, or at least it’s not who I always thought we were. But not everyone is listening.
I grew up in a liberal home, but I was suspicous of both parties. I was an independant up until Hillary ran for President— New York doesn’t allow you to vote in the Democratic primary unless you are registerd to that party. But I’ve always voted for democrats. In my youth, I thought the two parties were interchangeable, and in to my young thinking in some ways they were. They also were able to work together and find areas of agreement to help run the country. Not now. Trump has no intention of collaborating with anyone if he becomes President. Not even our allies. To compare the two candidates for President right now as somehow an equivilancy is so far from the truth.
Trump is running on lies.
I hope all Democrats, those who whine about Biden being too old or not caring enough about certain groups, Independants and moderate Republicans start realizing that there is no choice. We have to elect Biden.
Let’s get loud.
Thank you Liza. I cannot believe we are here again, but you are right, we need to get loud, start a trend, and remind everyone why we are where we are today...he's to blame, and we will not survive another 4 years of him...
Puzzled & disappointed by Swift. Didn’t she endorse Biden last time? She seems afraid to come out and endorse. And speaking of afraid, when did we become a nation of cowards? 🇺🇸
