Lot of folks in the "winner's circle" for me: Jesse Jackson's appearance; Kamala Harris's cameo; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (a truly gifted speaker); Senator/Reverend Raphael Warnock (delivering the goods in the best tradition of Black preachers); Jamie Raskin (a real truth-teller, sardonic yet wise); Jasmine Crockett (snappy and smart, like a professional comic, then turned serious during that poignant anecdote.) I surprised myself: I watched virtually all of it, when I originally thought I'd just catch the highlights. They were all highlights.
I love your drawings, Liza; your loose style conveys the feel of these folks, their speaking styles. I'm inspired: I'm going to watch tomorrow on my main monitor; my drawing tablet is directly in front of me, below the monitor, so I'll be able to sketch along in real time.

It was a totally joyful affair. We watched the whole darn thing via YouTube which we could pause to get dinner and other things from 6:00 pm to 1:40 am. I guess some breaks were a bit long. I am emotionally spent. I am really very hopeful. And as I have been saying over and over again. I can’t believe the democrats have pulled off such a flawless transition. Watching Jaime Harrison bringing the motions to the floor was so exciting. And watching him with his sons the little one with his hand on his stomach was priceless.
