It was certainly an interesting event. You have caught the night well with your drawings. Vance was so squinty eyed throughout, although I suppose he was watching the time clock. He just stuck to the same old lines that we have heard over and over. While it was overly "nice", what a relief to have opponants acting reasonably. I refuse to listen to the talking heads or read the media's views. Watching myself with a friend allowed me to form my own opinions. My favorite part was when they hit the mute button. Too many obvious lies coming out of Vance's little pursed mouth. BIG SIGH!
Liza, thanks for your debate coverage. My take. Optics matter. If I was a totally uniformed voter, to me Vance won. Walz came out looking confused, no smile, and proceeded to keep his head down scribbling notes much of the debate. Vance looked calm, friendly, and slick. As slick as the ice on early freezing lakes. I wish Walz would have broken through the icy veneer of lies more often, as Vance blamed everything on Harris. I wish Walz would have defended her. And what about Project 2025? We know who we are voting for, but last night didn’t help our cause with the uninformed.
What's the saying? "You can't judge a book by its cover." Well, if one only looked at the outside of both men in last night's debate outwardly, they both appeared civil, well dressed, etc. but it is what lies underneath, what you can read into each man by their actions before and after the debate. Scary that Vance still can't say that Donald Trump didn't win the election. Then saying he wants to look forward while the entire time looking back at what he said Trump accomplished during his term The most disingenuous statement by Vance was saying that Trump saved Obama Care. I still remember seeing John McCain putting turning his thumb down when the effort to stop Obamacare was defeated in Congress. And after all this time Trump only has a concept of a plan for health insurance. Your drawings once again capture the moment in history. And the eyes. Isn't there another saying that the eyes are a window to a person's soul? Well, it is evident that Vance has sold his soul to the devil. I know that is harsh but .... Loved the comeback from Walz that Trump had four years to build a wall and said Mexico would pay for it as Vance kept saying Harris has had 3 1/2 years to make things right. Well, you have to have a Congress that has the honesty and integrity to do what is right for our country and all of the people that live in it, with regards to the border, guns, childcare, etc.
Thanks for the commentary and drawings. I couldn't watch as I know D.J.Vile is one slippery snake masquerading as a baby lamb. One lies; the other swears to it. Blech. I nominate you for the medal of honor for your reporting on this without getting ulcers. Many thanks, Liza.
When Vance said that Trump participated in the peaceful transfer of power, I almost dropped my teeth, and I don't have dentures! Not only did January 9 happen, but he didn't even attend Joe Biden's inauguration. Vance was smooth, but didn't really answer many questions. He also kept saying that Harris had not accomplished anything, but she has not been the president!! Tim Walz was honest and in the second half did more fact checking and discussed his experience as governor of Minnesota. So much more relatable and honest. Like you said a couple of days ago - DECENCY!!
It would have been helpful if this article had actually detailed all those alleged Vance lies. But, no, we’re asked to take that claim on faith.
My takeaway from the VP debate was that if the Bratgirl had chosen as her running mate that Jewish guy from Pennsylvania, Vance might have gotten a run for his money. But no, thanks to the Dearborn veto, Vance was up against a clueless progressive doofus, Imitation Command Sergeant Major Walz, who was clearly outmatched—and knew it.
"Pro women"? It's all in the converse. Great summary Liza. Thank you, as always.
Thanks, D.L.
Trump/Vance is the 80/20 ticket. 80 years of Captain Con-man and his sidekick College Kid.

OH, yes, I forgot to mention that mute button moment. It was interesting. Thanks!

Thanks, Allia. I do have stomach issues sometimes....
Vance: a sheep in Wolf’s clothing. Thank you for your thoughts. Vance proved he’s more dangerous than trump.
