Liza like you I am baffled by the undecided and those still voting for Trump. I watched after the debate 3 voters, dem, republicans and independent, say they are still undecided. Trump is clearly not of sound enough mind to be President.

Excellent perspective, as always. Love your kind approach. As to why so many are still in Trump's camp? Well, I think it's fair to say "it's the isms" that have captured them, along with your observation that they may see the world through negativity. The WaPo article today (9/11) on 25 "undecided" voters (I agree, how is that possible?) showed a significant movement pre-post debate to Harris. Yay! Those that won't move, well, probably the isms.

Liza, I think of 4 reasons why people vote for Trump. (1) Blind loyalty to the Party. (2) Hanging onto the myth of Trump the mighty businessman. (3) Belief in the disinformation peddled by the loony Right. (4) Because deep down they don't want a woman president. Facts and the truth don't sway ignorance. Too bad. A talented, worthy woman stands in the wings to lead America and some are blind.

I agree wholeheartedly. I heard someone talking to my husband on the phone and was adamant that Harris will not be strong enough to stand up for our country or stand up to world leaders that want to destroy our country. He has a son in the army who is a helicopter pilot and is now training to be a helicopter pilot that doesn’t drop military men and women into a hot zone, or hot spot but will be deployed in safer locations. I understand his concern for his only son. My husband is a Vietnam Vet and is doing a lot of reading about things he didn’t know happened. It’s a good thing we don’t know all of the behind the scenes stuff or we would drive ourselves crazy. Harris stood up to Trump! She isn’t a traitor like him. Stealing classified documents, meeting with Putin secretly when he was in Helsinki, I think in 2018, with only interpreters present, and the list goes on.

What a despicable human being Trump is.

Trading on an innocent child's death and

encouraging xenophobia and racial hatred.

He has ripped our country in half. We WILL

find a way to heal.

I don’t think the “influencers” are stupid. Some who listen to them and carry the lies, might be stupid. They pretend dump can lead, because they want that fascist society. They want power over women and people of color. He keeps the attention on himself, they go about exploiting.

And, hey the Ohio Suburban hill billy lurks in the shadows. He would probably be better suited to bring Project 2025 into being. Dump has no attention span.

Great take on things. The young boy's death being used this way is just another way he has of using and abusing. I decided long ago I would never vote for him when he mocked a disabled man in his audience. He divided us, made us afraid to post a sign or bumper sticker. I have family members who are educated and still will vote for him. I want us to be one again.

I can’t comprehend it either. There is nothing even likable about him, he supports the craziest ideas (rants about eating cats and dogs and saying it on national television?), and he lies constantly. Thanks again for your live drawings!! I always love them!!!

Good for Aidan's dad. trump and his cohort use ANYONE for their personal gain if they think it will work; when they use someone to brew hatred, it is so much worse.

I agree that people seem to fall into glass half empty and glass half full (though I can never remember which one is the positive; it rather depends on what is in the glass: a milkshake or the gunk they make you drink before a colonoscopy. There is some reporting that conservatives are gloomier than liberals in overall outlook, but I don't know how valid the research is. But in trump's case, it seems a lot of people simply prefer surrender to fear and clinging to the belief that Someone can make it go away, despite the Someone constantly flogging the fear. Which comes first, the fear or the pessimism?

I’m still trying to figure out who in the Republican Party thought Trump was a good idea to play the role of the Puppet.

Unfortunately I think you’re right about the people who see the world in a negative way looking to Trump as a fixer for this. He speaks to them with his angry and hateful language. I don’t think anything can change their minds.

On the bright side I’m so glad that there are more and more people grateful for their lives and willing to go the extra mile to make our world a beautiful place to livd in.

It's all about fear. Hate is just the armor we use.

Build a fort, it becomes a prison. It went up stone by stone, it needs to come down the same way..

I am also baffled by the people I know in my community and family that still want to vote for Trump. I went with my husband to a doctor's appointment today and wore my I'm Speaking shirt. My husband said nothing about my attire which surprised me. However, another gentleman in the waiting room took notice and said you must have been wearing that about 20 minutes. I told him no. I've had it for a few weeks. I left it at that. As I listened, and observed so many people coming in in wheelchairs, with walkers, as did this man, and with canes, I thought to myself what must their healthcare cost them? Trump said it himself he has concepts only because he isn't President yet. My husband worries that what I post on social media will have people unexpectedly sending bullets through our windows. We live in a rural community and a heavy Republican county. When I countered that some of our neighbors have a great big orange Trump 2024 on some logs next to their brand new barn and state of the art milking parlor and a sibling that also is part of the farm is adding an addition onto their home nearby - I said it is being done under the Biden administration, not Trump. He said we don't talk politics remember? He also said Presidents don't make a difference in the economy. We were dairy farmers too once and worked very hard for everything we have. We have agreed to disagree on many topics. He said he probably won't vote because New York State doesn't count because it's not a swing state. Oh well. I'm voting and voting for Harris and Walz. I discovered today that a friend is a Trump supporter because of a comment she posted - but it was making excuses for him. I don't understand because she has a daughter that served her country for many years. Oh well. She will still be a friend, like in the your drawing. We have more in common other than who we support for President. That is the deeper message of your drawing. We are all Americans first and foremost. Sorry for the long rant.
