We live part-time in the country just north of the city, and our little local newspaper editor wrote to me yesterday and asked if I wanted to contribute one sentence to a piece that he was putting together. He asked if I would fill in the blank: “ I am hoping to find [blank] under the tree this year.” I obliged, and wrote this:
“I am hoping to find calm under the tree this year…..that will last at least four years.”
It may be difficult to find, but let’s try.
I drew the above last week and put it in a newsletter here, but then realized I wanted to run it by The New Yorker, so took it down (they passed on it). Many of you commented on the drawing, thank you! Here it is again.
May your day be quiet, calm and lovely, with family or friends, or with yourself. Thank you for being here, so happy you are.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Very thankful you are here with us. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone!
