Happy Thanksgiving. I love how you acknowledged those who may be alone today. Holidays created by people put so much pressure on everyone. Learning the history of holidays and when they were created and by whom and why is always fascinating to me. You grow up thinking everything is one way and has always been that way and as you get older, you learn that is not the case.
If we just remember the reasons for Thanksgiving, that helps make the day calm. And thank you for your always welcome drawings and commentary-they always give us calm, perspective and hope, which we’ll definitely need for the next four years.
Calm has so many roots including Mother Earth, family, friends and community. I am so lucky to be able to visit a waterfall and then help stock a small community-built food shelf for those in need.
Gratitude to Liza, her family and all those in Liza-land.
Thank you as always for your funny and thoughtful cartoons and thoughts. I wish you the best for turkey time and as for the next four years, we need to gather our loved ones around us and pray that our beautiful country and democracy will scream "Yes we can and yes we will sustain ourselves" love to you and yours, Jane Kronheim
Sharing with all: moments, minutes and, even days of calm are exceptional and need careful interrogation. As we know in our hearts: the world is still piercingly difficult for so many. My indigenous friend reminded me today is a day of mourning for her (and many other) people. Her words touch me.
Maybe we build pockets of calm by collaborative active acts of justice. Thanks all
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Very thankful you are here with us. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone!

Is rice stuffing a thing? Never heard of it. Happy Thanksgiving
Me either. But I’m not a big cook.
We need a lot more calm out there. You are on to something. Good advice for me, too!
Thankful for you, Liza! Your drawings feed my spirit 💫. Enjoy Thanksgiving 🦃🥧

As always Liza, you offered just the right message at just the right time. Happy Thanksgiving—so thankful for you and this community.
Please correct me if in error.
I think the historical origin of Thanksgiving was an event at which indians and "the white man" sat down together to eat.
Had they not been bitter oponents in the not too distant past?
Just maybe . . . sharing a meal is a way to begin bridging the maw that now survives us.
Heather Cox Richardson's Nov. 27 post gives the history in detail (Substack).
