That drawing is striking... and a little sympathetic.

Hey, Liza...on behalf of those of us who loathe and detest even the sight of the orange man, I humbly thank you for keeping us current with the shenanigans. I'm sick of the daily drip of his existence, but I guess we need to know what in the Bojangles is going on. I salute you. xo P.S. How's the cat?

Thank you Allia!

The cat is fine, still quite the character. She alternately snuggles and bites. But: she is still under one year old!

I know this will sound odd, but I have some empathy for the person. I feel like he is mentally ill and know one in his life cared enough about him to get him help. My mother (Bronx born, raised and lived there until her 40’s) told me his parents were awful people. “His mother was a socialite who cared only for herself and her image and parties. His father was a self centered SOB and crooked as they come.” Image having that as your world, you’d

Be screwed up also. Then as an adult everyone just wanted the money and fame. So, he has now suffered what most mentally ill, abused (I mean emotionally, no idea about otherwise) children often come to. A place at a table alone with only the leaches still or paid help, if they can afford it.

That said, I think he should be held accountable in the eyes of the law, because I think he did knowingly break the law. But I do feel sorry for him also, a tortured life really, even if he did not know it due to his pathological narcissism. If I were his attorney I would go for mental health defense. Of course, he would never allow it. These people have a way of coming to power in the world. So sad. Call me naive, but I do believe maybe he would not be at that table if he had gotten some good intervention and therapy and accepted it.

Thank you for your courage in posting this. As a person in a healing profession I have been able to see something of that all along and with a more empathetic POV. But I am not at odds with the personal responsibility in society that any sane, even semi-educated person can understand if they wish to. Behavior is a fact. Which is why we have been so misled; some question our own proclivities and how they are played out.... And some don't. The fact that this is a college-educated person does not reflect necessarily on the worth of college, but on how that education is used. Narcissism knows no boundaries.

While I frankly don't feel empathy for him, I understand. I read the book by his neice, Mary Trump, about his family, upbringing etc. He may have been born with narcissistic traits, but he was raised and those around him enabled his behavior throughout his life. He's never been held accountable.

Totally agree with you. Accountability is important. Especially in law. Thanks for the updates in drawings. It is how I am following this trial.

You are capturing the essence of the courtroom perfectly. I follow the NYT live coverage and your images help bring it to life.

As usual, your drawings capture moments even better than any quotes or descriptions! The one of tRump alone is magnificent-and should be a standard-bearer for the good guys!
