Losing a cursor is a terrible thing. It happens to me because (a) I'm aging and my eyesight isn't as acute as it once was, (b) the dang thing is little, and (c) these modern monitors are so large that I can't see all the real estate at once. Fortunately, I have set a preference so that, if I rapidly wiggle my finger on the trackpad, the cursor gets much larger and more colorful...voila! There it is!
It came right back from the freezer really quickly.

Only every day. Squinting helps.
