When in graduate school and spending a zillion hours writing and puzzling out ideas and events I took 6 minute naps. They worked! My mind was refreshed and I could keep working almost endlessly. I've stayed with the brief (!!!) naps, usually on my back on the floor and quite close to the woodstove which keeps all of us in VT happy.
And, I have a 99 yr old friend who naps at the side of the road and still drives safely re his daughters (one is an MD). So he is a talented soul. He was recently seen doing push ups at a gathering. (He is beloved by all).
I didn’t nap, but my dog, Zoey did. She’s 14 and sleeps a lot, but we did 9,712 steps today for our walk! I guess all that deep napping gave her the energy to walk more.
Thanks for the link to the NYPL talk with Heather. It was "knit one, pearl two" on your part, and I thank you for keeping this important thread moving on.
zzzzzzzzzzzzz
It looks like the first cat understands Zero gravity position which is best way to nap.
My cat likes to sleep under a quilt in the sun. I recommend it!
Cats and dogs are gifted nappers. We should try to follow their example.

I love those napping positions. My cat often
sticks out one front leg while napping. She also puts a paw over her eyes sometimes. I think would make a good cartoon but I can’t think of a caption.

Over time, my cats taught me how to nap.
I concur with cats: naps and treats are the best parts of the day. ,,^..^,,
