Maybe it’s time to blow up a big rat in front of The White House!

cheers to Kathy Hochul and to the officials who resigned in favor of keeping their ethics intact.

My only problem with all these competent people quitting is that they will be replaced with morons. And at least, if there are some knowledgeable people still in charge, even if it's a handful, we can continue to hope. But, I'm sure that's part of the plan. Do something so ill advised that anyone with half a brain (that doesn't have a worm in it) won't want to spend another day at the job. On a positive note, glad you are better and that the New Yorker exhibit is a success. I must come in to see it.

Liza, another wonderful summary of our deteriorating situation. It all started with a lie. Trump's lie was like a lit match thrown on a dry field that has turned into a forest fire. The Republican Congress is hosing the fire with gasoline. Our nation is getting burnt while awaiting a hose of decency, lawfulness, compassion and hope.

Liza's insights are on target--as we expect. Timothy Snyder is a great resource and his thinking is helpful and accessible. We can turn to him (and Liza) again and again. And as the case with NYC Mayor Adams indicates, too many will gather around Trump et al.

As we are learning, only people power working together and pushing pols and elites from below will be able to slow, halt and eventually reduce Trump's efforts. Trump et al will hurt many; but we will build communities of intersectional safety and ongoing caring. Many in Vermont will invite migrants, trans friends and others into our homes and lives. This is simple and good and we can be proud of our efforts.Time for all of us to find ways to reach out and build the world we need and deserve.

Liza I’m sorry but I don’t agree with your statement that all these things are temporary. For one thing, the rest of the western world will never trust the USA again. If we can so handily elect a President that has the power to upend decades of good work for the impoverished people of the world with the stroke of a pen, how can they? We’re going to have to institutionalize the moral guard rails that we all took for granted. Unfortunately fixing things takes a lot more time and effort than breaking them. Our first task is to take back the House on April 1st. That will be a step in the right direction of healing that this country and the world sorely needs.

I have faith that, because the rest of the world is falling to right wing forces as well, they understand and can empathize. And if they look, they see that half of our country did not elect this. I also am just hopeful, I have to be. I have many friends abroad and I think they feel for us and know we are trying hard to change the situation.

You’re right. We have to be hopeful, because there’s no alternative. We also need to take back control of the House on April 1. No fooling. ❤️

LOVE the cartoon! Yay for NYC's water towers; they should replace the mayor and the criminal-in-chief.

If Trump is the head MAGA, are his followers MAGETTES (careful with your pronunciation there, fella!)
