We may all be fatigued by politics, I know I am. So, a cartoon for you! Thankfully, there seems to be a lull in the news right now. Trump is doing the same old Trump, only now with his young clone, JD Vance (the more I read about him, the worse I feel). Biden is —well, is he “stewing,” as the NY Times headline wrote this morning? Has he “dug in,” doing his work as President while in seclusion, waiting to get back out on the campaign trail and talk to people? I’m getting mixed signals from the media as to what might be going on behind closed doors. Whatever he decides, in or out, is okay by me.
We don’t know where things stand.
We don’t know who has the giant ball of yarn.
An odd connection, perhaps…but maybe not.
Have a good Saturday, thanks so much again for being here.
A reminder, if you would like to donate to my documentary, WOMEN LAUGHING, you can still help us reach our kickstarter goal. We have ten days left and need to get to 50K in order to receive the donations. So many of you have been very generous, and I thank you! Here is the link to know more.
And here is a bonus cartoon from The New Yorker!
Good day for pets. My dogs calm me down and make me laugh with their antics. My daughter is showing horses in Oklahoma and thanks to the Internet I can watch. The sun is shining and the flowers are blooming. We need more time with cats, dogs, horses and less with crazed political types and clickbait headlines. Thanks for the giggle with the giant cat.
The important thing is not to be left helplessly wondering what’s true in the tangled ball of yarn the news has become. Who’s saying what, is there a power play in motion about to flip a narrative to something larger than it’s not, how a bullet can clip an ear without doing more damage, is it possible not to honor the dead while parading their clothes, their name misspelled, is Joe not in control - or is this a fight for positioning on the part of the weakest candidates in the campaign to improve their odds while betraying Caesar, is this MacBeth or Henry III raising the troops up to fight while a minister balks at the fight to come…
No peace is there
