It’s great to read about positive events, such as nations working together, searching for an end to the war in Ukraine at the NATO Summit; then frustrating to read about the frightening shifts away from democracy in Israel. I spoke with two dear friends in Tel Aviv about it all— they are sad and very, very worried about the internal threats to democracy and the continued advancement of apartheid towards Palestinians. I read a good article about it in the NY Times this morning, Thomas Friedman’s opinion piece,
This was lovely to watch and I agree the sound adds a lot of depth to the process. Do you notice the sound as you create? At what point did you know it was going to be a bunny?
The sounds were not something I thought would be so important, but I love it. Yes, sometimes I do notice the sounds, but I didn't with this particular one. Usually I hear the pen nip scritch scratch.
I'm loving the realness of your studio. The paper storage drawers on a pallet, the cardboard boxes, and the floor. It all says "an artist gets stuff done here." And yes, I loved the videos too!
Thanks! Yeah, some stuff gets done, at least I try. I thought before I posted that--do people really want to see the boxes? But you know what, it doesn't matter, and I'm happy for your comment!
I love potters! I grew up with a best friend whose mother was a potter, spent a lot of time in her studio. Considered it as a career briefly. Such a beautiful art form.
It's always interesting to learn how creative people, well, create. That video is amazing.
My own creative impulses, such as they are, involve words, and that usually involves forward planning. But occasionally not. One Saturday morning about five years ago I sat down at my desk, opened Word, and just attacked the keyboard. Two hours later I had a short story that came from I know not where. It's just a trifle, of course, though thanks to the manner of its creation it's among my half-dozen favorites. But I'm afraid that a video of me, typing, would not have had the audiovisual appeal of this one...
In a recent post, I linked your big character post, referencing the 'bunny' you drew. Now looking at the picture in all it's large glory, it may not be a bunny after all. (DOH!) But that was my first interpretation, which coalesced with other signs that same day. :) Appreciate your work. Have a beautiful weekend.
In my head, it was a dog, but when I looked at the finished product, I thought it looked like a bear cub! So funny. I'm not used to drawing big, it plays funny games on the hand and eye. Now I see the bunny as well, and others thought that too. Thank you for being here and for your support of my work. Enjoy summer!
That’s the beauty of art and it’s natural openness for interpretation. Dogs (Loyalty), Bears (Introspection) and Rabbit (Fear) all have sacred Medicine to offer. Thanks for the healing Doc! (Insert Bugs Bunny meme). Have a wonderful summer!
Smiling through this - the long version - just hearing the brush strokes is wonderful
Thank you!

My wife's a potter and costume designer/creator. I know a working studio when I see one!

The long version was just what I needed this morning. Thank you. 💕
I'm so happy to hear that!! You are so welcome.
Your cartoon is incredibly apt. Nice work, Liza!
Thank you!!

That's interesting. Sometimes that's all it takes --just sit down and do it! And those can be the best ones, it's true.
