I just got tested at Cali Critical Care. It's official, I have the flu, dammit. I am picking up an Rx for Tamiflu now. I can't go to the Irvine Barclay Theatre to see Garrison Keller tonight. Steve will ask someone else to use my ticket. I was looking forward to Abe and Julie coming over tomorrow but that can not happen because I am contagious. I hope you are feeling better.
5 inches of on snow the walk, but have just been shoveled out. just put out more seed and peanuts for the birds. doves, chickadees, jays, an elegant flicker-such good company!
Love your cartoon. I see it as joining in the peacefulness the cat is experiencing high off the ground finding solace above and out of human pathways. And then there are the fun memories of having a tree fort as a young child and reveling in imagination.
…after listening to the daily news! After our (hopefully) brief winter spell, an ‘Annie’ day is forecast for tomorrow, to melt the ice and lift the spirit.
Funny, but I would not say "silly". More like poignant. Easy for me to identify with the woman needing something like solace and companionship. By the way, for what it's worth: I often find cats quite affectionate and comforting, and quite receptive to affection, as well. Dogs don't have a corner on this.
I could only think of how many creatures tried to escape the Easton fire, because I grew up in the impacted area. I think the cat wants to join the woman so they can run away to safety, wherever that is.

Amen!
My cat always says “no”.
Can I stay there with you (up a tree) for the next four years?
yes
Oh goodiegumdropsandsourgummieworms.
Thanks for the levity of your drawing on this cold icy day in North Georgia. Some days I feel like the lady in your drawing

Cats up. Or is it ketchup?

It looks a lot better up there than (then?) here. I was a teacher for 40 years and still have trouble with spelling and grammar. Sheesh!!!
Looked at in a more gruesome but sadly relevant way, the caption could be “sorry, the fire truck is busy.”
Man, that’s going to be one populated tree.
