A moment away from politics and anything serious

Leading up to the holiday weekend, I thought I’d post some silly drawings.

I have cats on the brain, and it makes for a good excuse to post cat cartoons. We have a new kitty, her name is Mitty, inspired by the name in the short story The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty by James Thurber. My husband and I are huge Thurber fans, and we did consider naming her Jamie. In the end, we liked Mitty better.

And here is another cat drawing.

For the record, we are dog AND cat people. We just don’t live with a dog at the moment.

Here’s one that was in The New Yorker, one of my personal favorites. I have no idea where it came from.

And finally, a rather odd one (not that the other ones aren’t odd, I know what you’re thinking).
