I was moving about the city this afternoon, so haven’t caught up with what’s going on in politics, probably just as well. But I did read a few articles that expressed outrage about the ageism towards Biden. Don’t get me started!
Anyway, sitting on the subway earlier, I hadn’t planned on drawing. But this woman across from me was intriguing, primarily because of her choice of socks and footwear. On her feet, she wore delicate kitten-heeled pumps, yet she wore grey sport socks with them.
It was only after about five stops that I decided I had to draw her. So, from 125th Street to 59th Street (express), I drew the blonde lady on my iPhone. She was unaware of what I was doing, but my seat-mate, who had been squished to my left, told me as I exited the train that she loved watching me. I thanked her, it was so nice to hear.
I hope your Friday is going well. I’m sitting at the Society of Illustrators, a lovely place to rest and spend time in the middle of a lot of art. If you come to the city, I recommend stopping by. They are great folks.
See you tomorrow.
Love this. I often wear long socks with nicer shoes, but not sports socks and not with pumps.
That's a look alright! Nicely captured, Liza!
