I’m in Canadian and an illustrator and I spent a divine afternoon at the Society for illustrators with another illustrator friend a few years ago. Such a great historical place.
This appears to be a young woman, maybe a VERY young woman. Maybe this is a thing with girls right now, maybe she's just showing her own style. But it does seem to be some kind of "look." Being old and male and not particularly urban, I feel like anything critical I might say would be asking for a sarcastic response from someone saying, more or less, "Thanks, Boomer." But I don't feel critical. I like the look.
Love this. I often wear long socks with nicer shoes, but not sports socks and not with pumps.
That's a look alright! Nicely captured, Liza!
Don’t ask my daughter about my bold sock choices.
Cute is in the eye of the beholder! I wish we'd normalize comfy things as cute. (*I* think comfy is cute!)
Thanks for the tip about Society of Illustrators. Next trip to the city I'll drop in and tell 'em Liza sent me.
Please do!
Born here and lived here for eight decades and have never visited the Society of Illustrators but will soon.
Great!

Love the live drawing! So much fun to watch this person materialize.
