Hmm. I often wonder how the houseless people here in Portland, many who live in tents on the sidewalks, relieve themselves. Where do they poop? I donβt really want to know, but it is a problem.
I love the yellow stripe. Iβm curious, just from an artistic technique point of view, how you chose to have that be the one moment of color in the image.
Yes, the yellow strip indicates the edge of the train platform, or so I thought. All the colors in that, as I recall were grey and brown anyway, except the yellow stripe
Oh yeah, I know those yellow strips intimately from the subway here in NYC. I was just curious what the thought process was in choosing which element in the drawing to make colored as opposed to the rest. The dynamism and danger of the yellow strip was pretty great, I figured maybe that was the reason.
PS; great getting to join the zoom tonight! cheers.
Well ,I do love spots of color! But you know, everything else was grey or brown, literally. And I also thought the yellow line would indicate clearly it was the edge of a train track. So glad you like the visual of it!
PS, great to see you on the zoom. I can't wait to look up your work. And I may take you up on documentary advice, thank you!
Very cool, thanks for that insight. And yeah happy to chat docβs (or AI too, these days) anytime. You can see more about my stuff and contact me via my website philipshane.com βοΈ
I recently visited LA Union Station. Had to take elevator. It doubled as the βgender freeβ lavatory. What puzzles me is at the station, there are restrooms.
πππππthank goodness, it was only his teeth

Itβs part of the platform, that yellow stripe.
