Maple trees are offering their "sap" as spring arrives up in here in rural VT. And yes, I thank the trees. My Native partner reminds me "trees are my family." How beautiful....
It's my theory that spring comes when it's convinced you're not going to be intimidated by winter any more. I start wearing lighter clothing in February, after several weeks of that, spring itself is usually shamed into showing its face, as winter slouches off in embarrassment. Might sound non-scientific but I promise you, it works every year, though some years not as quick as others.
Snow? What's that? 75° here at the ranch, cut a first crop of fresh lettuce today.
