Liza, you have summarized how all of us feel about what's happening in our country. The fox is in the hen house, and the sad news is that the hens (congress) are offering themselves to be devoured. Let's hope our demonstrations will chase the fox away and return spines to the hens.
Trump is hurting and scaring innocent people. My sister called the other day to verify that Social Security checks would still be coming. She said a friend of hers was petrified because she thought she would have to go to a Social Security Office, show proof of who she was, and also be able to use a computer. She had no idea where the office was, was already receiving checks every month, and did not own a computer or even know how to use one. I'm 74, and my sister is 72. I wanted her to get a laptop, but her husband thought everyone would know about their business. I explained his faulty thinking. She understands, but he refuses to give in. I told her that getting mail, going to the doctor, hospital stays, every interaction he does on his phone, the mail, etc. is all out there already. I told her I couldn't imagine accessing information, lab reports, etc., on my phone. At least a couple of years ago, I convinced her to get a Smartphone. Thank goodness she did. So, how many people are like her, and then this person, a friend of hers, is just one of hundreds, if not thousands, who feel anxious about the state of our country and their livelihoods. I remember I was on a trip to Canada when Trump was elected for the first time. I overheard people discussing how terrible he was then and how anyone could vote for him.
I didn't know what to say, but these people could see through his smoke-and-mirrors persona. It is scary because he will say and do anything to save himself. Just today, he tried to say he never signed the Alien and Sedition Act of 1798. He tried to throw Marco Rubio under the bus. Everyone serving in his administration is disposable to him if they can be used to help him CYA or, instead, CHA! He never takes the blame when things go awry. He never will. So, your cartoon is so telling. Our children and grandchildren are watching, listening, and, for some, being influenced by not hearing the truth. I feel as though I could write a boo,k, but then I have books to read by Liz Cheney, Bob Woodward's book War - to finish, and so many others. I do not live where there are rallies, but I can do and have done boycotting. As painful as it is to read or watch the news, it is essential to stay current to fight back.
Well, here’s the thing. We don’t need some official designation of what it means to be an American. Most Americans have no problem with that designation. They were born here, and that’s the end of it. Others are Americans by choice: they came here and signed up. One reason why America is the greatest country in the world is that anybody can come here, from anywhere, and become an American. But people who come here and try to impose their horrific patriarchal tyranny on their girls and women need to be kicked out of Americ—pronto!
I’ve been ignoring the fundraising emails and texts I keep getting because now every message feels like a scam, legitimate or not. I just voluntarily gave a donation to the Sanders and AOC campaign against Oligarchy. I did so through a link Heather Scott Richardson provided. They’re going to Red states, as they must, but I hope they’ll show up in red parts of Blue states, too. We’ll drive there.
I'll be there!

Much the same trajectory- though some years earlier. This is the time to stand up. Thank you Liza. This means a lot to so very many of us.
you are speaking what many of are thinking and saying, keep it up. Your voice is important.
Thank you
I'll be there -- in my small town!

Right. But he is also motivated by vengeance. We will be going to the protest in Albany.
I’m 75 with a medical disability but I am hoping to find a way to attend the one nearest me - it would be my first protest.
Sanders and AOC came to Las Vegas to speak. 15,000 people attended their event.

Already signed up and getting others to join in.
