Marjorie Taylor Greene really wants attention. First, the MAGA dress-up showmanship at the State of the Union address (which was flagrantly against the rules), then on camera saying “f*** off” to a reporter: it seems she just can’t stop herself from stirring the pot and seeking the limelight. She is in front of the cameras again today, calling to oust GOP Speaker of the House Johnson for agreeing to a bipartisan spending bill to prevent a government shutdown. Matt Gaetz, another grandstander, who only months ago successfully led the ouster of Speaker McCarthy, does not support the not-yet-official call to oust Johnson, saying “it would run the risk of allowing a Democrat to be elected speaker.”
Wouldn’t that be fun.
I don’t wish for drama to descend on the House again, these elected folks are supposed to be doing important work for their constituents. There are crises that need attention here in the US and globally. But I must admit I would enjoy seeing the GOP create problems for themselves yet again.
Greene is not the only one. We need to name hurricanes after Trump, Gaetz and the rest of the Freedom Caucus far right in the House. And maybe name a doormat after Mitch McConnell.
This is a drawing from maybe a year ago? I forget!
Other big news: Princess of Wales, Kate, has been diagnosed with cancer, and is undergoing chemotherapy. And gunmen opened fire at a major concert hall in Moscow. So far, forty people are assumed dead and the attack is still on-going. It might be a terrorist attack. I hope both of these sad events resolve soon.
Have a good Friday, and please stay safe and healthy. Thank you for being here.
I’ve promised myself a “free”chocolate donut the day she’s voted out of office.
What a nightmare the news is, isn’t it. Phew
The GOP decline continues. Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) has announced he is leaving Congress April 19.
