Betty Anne Gawthrop

My mother was the person who, when I was a little girl, gave me a pencil and some paper and suggested I draw. I will always thank her.

Her name was Elizabeth Anne Gawthrop, and she took my father’s name Donnelly when they got married. For most people, she was Betty Ann. For me, she was Mother. I lost her too many years ago, in 1977.

I’ve never celebrated mothers day, even though I am a mother to two wonderful young women. But here I am posting a photo of my mother on mother’s day! Couldn’t resist. I hope your day is good, if you celebrate this day or if you don’t.
