It's hard to comprehend
Paramount is paying Trump $16 million in a 60 Minutes settlement. Trump sued CBS over a Kamala Harris interview they claimed was unfairly edited in favor of Harris. The NY Times writes, “The deal is the clearest sign yet that Mr. Trump’s ability to intimidate major American institutions extends to the media industry. Many lawyers had dismissed Mr. Trump’s lawsuit as baseless and believed that CBS would have ultimately prevailed in court, in part because the network did not report anything factually inaccurate, and the First Amendment gives publishers wide leeway to determine how to present information.” Paramount is doing this because they want to sell the company to Skydance, which requires the Trump administration’s approval. The size of this settlement is the same amount ABC agreed to pay Trump in a lawsuit involving the anchor George Stephanapolous.
Trump is witholding nearly $7 Billion from schools, with no explanation. This is money that was allocated by Congress. He can’t do that.
Yesterday, on the day his big bill was being voted on, Trump visited Florida at a site he has deisignated to become a detention center for immigrants in large numbers. The Attorney General of Florida nicknamed it “Alligator Alcatraz.” His bill allocates an incredible amoung of money, $175 billion, to his desire—and apparently a large number of Republicans as well— to rid the country of immigrants, and this was a publicity stunt to try to keep the party together. The Department of Homeland Security has already blown through whatever money they had. According to the NY Times, Director Kristi Noem was on hand for the tour, and related this story:
“The other day, I was talking to some marshals that have been partnering with ICE,” she said. “They said that they had detained a cannibal and put him on a plane to take him home, and while they had him in his seat, he started to eat himself and they had to get him off and get him medical attention. These are the kind of deranged individuals that are on our streets in America,” she said.
Trump loves this location because he claims that if prisoners try to escape, they will get eaten by alligators and attacked by snakes.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted a selfie, writing with an alligator emoji, “En route to Alligator Alcatraz!” The new deputy press secretary, Abigail Jackson, put out an A.I.-generated video of alligators wearing Immigration and Customs Enforcement hats while dancing to Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby.” Pro-Trump influencers like Benny Johnson were invited to come along on the trip, too. “Hi guys. I have just been handed official Alligator Alcatraz merch,” he posted to his 3.7 million followers on social media. “I repeat, this prison has merch. Things are going insanely well.”
It was all one big joke. It is horrifying. These are people’s lives, many of whom came to our country for safety and opportunity.
The two drawings on this page are two slightly different versions that I drew this morning. I know it’s important to relax, don’t get me wrong. Otherwise we will burn out, and that is not good. We need all hands on deck.

If I was a migrant, I sure would not want to come to America. Never in my lifetime did I think that our "leaders" would not only kill the American dream, but allow Americans and immigrants to die along with it.
Every day, in every way, it just gets worse and worse. I am dumbfounded. Gobsmacked. Appalled. Terrified. My son keeps begging me to turn off the news, stop reading the papers, but I admit, it's become an obsession. I HAVE to know what he's done now. What his Orcs have done. What latest savagery they've nightmarished up. I have the misfortune to be an empath. I can almost experience others' pain, walk a mile in their moccasins. I am confident that 99% of illegals are here to escape something worse, but Drumpf wants them, nearly all of them brown persons, to go back where they came from, or any other country not of their choice, or his too-precious "Alligator Alcatraz."
I am not stupid; I know there are, in fact, criminals, dangerous criminals among the detainees. That's a given. Throughout every society, there are dangerous criminals, murderers, serial killers, and other heinous evildoers that we need to deal with daily. Still, the idea that ALL of the most villainous are illegal immigrants is ludicrous, and how, for heaven's sake, does withholding nearly $7 billion from schools help the overblown immigrant "problem."
