That's my Bishop! So proud of her speaking truth to power. She certainly speaks for me and most parishioners of the diocese. Interesting that President Trump was in the congregation at President Carter 's funeral, but seemed not to realize how much of the praise levied on Carter's legacy was a direct contradiction to his own beliefs and actions.

Adam and Eve were the charter members of the Damaged Goods Club. The DGC is the most inclusive club in the world, rejecting no one. The Donald is a member, as is the bishop. When you call out, imitate the bishop and do it with love. And do your best not to accuse, but assess when you do call something someone is doing out.

Bluntly - don't attack, assess.

Bob, while I agree with the need for analysis, I think your use of “attack” is incorrect. I believe she had carefully analyzed the situation and that her intentions and requests were exceedingly gentle and firmly couched in Christ’s teaching and the fundamental moral codes as expressed by most enlightened societies. These last weeks have illustrated the truthfulness of her concerns and the accuracy of her analysis, as the administration has “attacked” the people whom she identified as at risk.

Hi Richard, I said to imitate the bishop and do it with love - that is, assess, not attacking. Like the bishop. I'm 100% behind her. Sorry it took so long to reply. Personal business to attend to.

Finally, religion speaking the truth to his face. JD and Donold impassive, likely seething. It's a start.

Sadly, he walked out of the church and told to Press that the sermon had not been good. You can bet that he will never go back there.

Trump looked fat, tired, and bored. Tiffany was almost worse, looking around with a smirk on her face. The bishop, we now know, is the first hero of the tale, brave, tender, elegant, showing no fear from the orange one fidgeting in the front row. And I love that this first hero is a woman. Perfect.

God bless her. No pandering there. She is one brave lady. Looking at him, though, it's like he's sitting (God forgive me) on the toilet and having a bad time. And the wife has a sour puss on as well. Lord, give us strength. I continue to thank you so very much for sifting through this for us. Haven't put the news on yet, and just listened a bit to NPR. But tis going to be a long four years. Your cartoon made me smile though, which I needed today. Thanks so much.

Asking Trump to be merciful and compassionate is a bit like asking a lion to stop eating the body of a fawn it has just killed.

Bravo Bishop Budde. Wonder if she will show up on Ka$h's hit list. I can just see trump's IRS going after the Episcopal church's charitable status because she, uh, refuses to endorse a political figure with the proper genuflecting.

Everyone needs to tell the truth and ask for empathy, justice, love, and happiness so that everyone can feel the breeze of freedom "swinging" their way! The only swinging Trump was thinking about was swinging the gates of jails to allow the J6 rioters free. Their Wheeee is so far from what should never have happened. Where did Back the Blue Pledge go? Trump looked like he was about to fall asleep, and the other .... looked perfectly miserable or thinking, "How dare she?" I'll bet none of them ever were pushed on a swing. Too bad the scales of justice didn't swing at all.
