The question is who comes to their senses first. We are like ladies at a tea party, wondering when we take our white gloves off and tell our ranting host to stfu.
Thanks always Liza. The crisis is on because so many are weakening under TrumpRule. And yes it may be worse if/when the Supreme Court says halt and Trump waves them away. So to avert a epic consti crisis and restore our values and ethics we need toz; limit the damage, organize en masse and peaceably--and build the world we need and want.
A minority of citizens voted for him and many are lilkely gobsmacked. Build strength and community. As others have declared: another world is possible. We are the majority.
In my imaginary world, the Supremes grow spines and jail Felon 47's happy ass. He is a clear and present danger to these united states and their inhabitants.
Trump has always felt he was above the law. What a show today at the White House, where he signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education. I couldn't help but wonder whose children were sitting at those desks and told to mimic his signing an executive order. What a show! Our judges have to stand firm. But so too does the Supreme Court. Tomorrow, Musk is getting an intelligence briefing on our country's plans if we go to war with China. Those in Congress who knowingly voted for Hegseth, Bondi, etc., to be confirmed are responsible for the continuing destruction of our country. On a side note, my sister called me today to verify that Social Security checks will still come without going to an office. She said her friend didn't understand what she was hearing on the news and was extremely upset. She said she didn't even know where a Social Security Office was, couldn't use a computer, and was worried she wouldn't receive her April check. I wonder how many others are unable to learn something new to survive. It sounded like this person was mentally tormented. Sad days and times indeed.
All your cartoons are on target. But boy do I relate to this one. Oh my dawg. I laughed out loud and then almost cried. Hey, I heard you on the radio. oh oh on the radio oh oh. (that's a song I think.) Anyway, you were very good and smart and had a lot of good answers. I had to go out so I didn't hear the whole thing. What I heard, though, was terrific. Thank you for your intelligent commentary tonight and always. You know there is such a thing as a "citizen's arrest." Anyone?
Liza, you're correct that it's challenging to achieve a large, dictator-mitigating protest across our vast country. However, the group "Indivisible" is trying hard to achieve exactly that on April 5th, 2025! Peacefully participate if you can, or support in another way! https://handsoff2025.com/?SQF_SOURCE=indivisible. PEACE and FORTITUDE all!
Also, you're cartoon was spot on. I feel exactly that way (person under blanket) every morning when I I come to my senses after my first cup of coffee! But then, I make my "To Do" list and start making phone calls to my representatives.
Chuck Schumer has to go. He needs to be deposed. Most of what has happened to our country in the last decades has happened under his inexpert leadering, it certainly has not been leadership. Everyday we lose more ground and he clutches his little glasses. He took Hakeem Jeffries out at the knees and the rest of us well.
It is harder and harder to come out from under the blanket, Liza. 🛌
You are questioning exactly what we worry about, sad days.
What do you get when you cross a criminally insane man with the world's richest man? Just look around you.
An overpriced truck which falls apart on the drive off?
An adhesive failure?
An unlicensed White House car lot?
my local paper ran a full page-
keep calm and press on -the first amendment is the heart of democracy
the Founding Fathers knew a free press isn't just an institution-it's the pulse of an informed , engaged socirty.

Arrest Trump? Unlikely. Musk, however, could be arrested in a foreign country willing to do us a solid.
I believe you are spot-on.
