Maybe John Lennon, maybe Paul Coelho (author): Everything will be fine in the end. If it is not fine, it is not the end. Patience all. Read, Listen, Speak Out, Be diligent and, when you can, push (or maybe fight) back! I agree with Liza, and others, we can do this. We must do this. If not for us, for the children and their children. Be strong.

Re Hegseth confirmation, (1) the good news is that there are three Republican Senators with enough spine to stand up to Trump. (2) I would expect that with millions in funding from his good buddy Muskrat he will arrange primary challenges to these Senators. Talking about spelunking in Trump's brain, what was omitted was the red hot region of vengeance. Seeking to scare off anyone with enough spine to oppose him he always threatens every for mof vengeance in the book. With unlimited funding from Muskrat, that can be a serious threat. Our politics now move whoheartedly into vengeance mode. NEVER FORGET: TRUMP WAS TRAINED BY ROY COHN.

Did you see Angels in America? Roy Cohn on his deathbed was gripping.

Honestly isn't it time to apply the second amendment. An armed militia can be formed to take back our government from the corruption that will not only tarnish but may destroy democracy.

Remember, wear cute winter boots so you don't slip on the ice. Learned this today from Taylor Lorenz SubStack, UserMag.

I do not trust Brooks. He is “disinformed” at best, or simply disingenuous.

It is hard not to despair for our country at the moment. Thank you for the reminder that we’ve been here before, and survived. We have to hang on to beat this new system, and fight despair however we can.

I needed to hear a mind and soul I respect say “we can do this”. Deep and joyful thanks to you, Liza.

Being informed now is an essential citizen duty, a guide to where to put our daily and regular energies. Picking or creating just one that you can actually do, can not only keep you engaged, it can lay a personal foundation for hope. That's something we cannot afford to lose, as it is action on purpose, both personal purpose and national necessity. Keep on keeping on!

My own personal one is passing on useful information through Substack, fb, LinkedIn; $support, petition signing, talking with neighbors, keeping a small neighborhood garden, offering healing work that I am trained in, keeping a personal journal that helps me in in many ways, taking good care of my health - especially at age 89 ;-). This is a great way to feel my part in the whole democracy enterprise. We are the ones we have been waiting for.
