How about doing what those of us who were against Biden's grift did: waited to vote him out of office. Your side played patty cake for 4 years, now the other side who got elected plays patty cake. That's how democracy works.
But you just come here to do your two minutes of hate. I can see that. So carry on. :-)
We are all seeing what's happening, repugs as well as democrats. Still, very few, if any people who could do something...are doing anything. Where are all the billionaires who aren't in his camp...who have at least monetary clout...what are they doing? It's like the fox is in the hen house, and everyone is watching, frozen, unable to do anything but look on. Is there no way to stop this? I may be crazy, but it seems to me he is conducting a war against America without guns...he is dismantling education, healthcare, wealth, international relations, industry, pitting north against south. People are dying and will die ... not on the battlefield ... but because there are no vaccines....no one to inspect our food; no one to help after a disaster, no research, no free press, no rule of law. Tis a bloody mess.
I believe the Roberts' court has Trumps' back, and have told him so. They are prepared to conflate, “official acts” of corruption with any acts of corruption, and permit all. Given the depth of the treachery at hand, I would not be surprised by something like the Alhambra Decree. The expulsion (ironically) of all Spanish speaking, citizens or not. Then all brown and black, Spanish speaking or not. Crazy, of course, but is this not Trump's avowed ambition, to make America great again?
Can't you find another Substack to harass? You won't find engagement from Liza's people because they are too civil (except for me). Take your troll energy to more fertile grounds and be gone, please.
I guess I don't understand why you would ever equate 'wokeness' with insanity. To me, 'wokeness' implies a mind open to hear different sides of an argument- the opposite of the closed-circuit insanity that is currently dictating our lives. Are you an AI bot, by chance?
Would an AI bot be upset because we are all split into enclaves that don't talk to each other? :-)
Yes, I suppose that's how the term "woke" originated. Now it's turned into... something quite another. Do you see people here or on other similar stacks "open to hear different sides of an argument"? I am seeing the opposite. I used to think it was a cult, but the more I see of it, the more it looks like insanity. It does not make me happy to say that. People who invented the concept of "othering" and promoted an awareness of how it hurts relationships are now wall to wall othering (those folks over there who disagree with them). People who used to promote compassionate listening are now all about hating on those nasty trumpians. How is it sane to vilify neighbors who voted for current political opposition?
There is a lot of projection going on here. This is not about parties, Democrats versus Republicans. MAGA is as far from traditional Republican values as current Democrats are from the Yellow Dog Southern Democrats. Of course those who want democracy, the rule of law, freedom, and a government that works for all vilify supporters of White Christian nationalist fascists and the oligarchs who manipulate them into supporting the upward flow of wealth to the billionaire class at the expense of those at the base of the economic pyramid. We value diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as other “woke” concepts that recognize the effects of systemic racism, Jim Crow and Juan Crow discrimination and voter suppression; while MAGA seems to hate anyone who is not a white male US citizen, and labels liberals as enemies of the state. We support the Constitution that Trump is doing his best to overthrow, creating an imperial unitary executive presidency following the Project 2025 blueprint for dictatorship. Go peddle your hate elsewhere.
RFK Jr is an opportunist who supports the MAGA neonazis for his own advancement. He is a nut job anti-science conspiracy theorist who is crippling medical research on vaccines, cancer, infectious diseases, epidemiology, and many other areas of medicine including autism. The science is clear that autism is not caused by vaccines, and his approach smacks of eugenics and will not find a cause or cure. I have an adult son with Aspergers so I am rather familiar with the science.
He is already responsible for numerous deaths that could have been prevented by safe and effective vaccines. More people will die from cancer and other diseases where promising research into treatments and cures has been terminated. As in many other areas of government the damage will be lasting and devastating.
Thank you Liza and Scott Pelley. He delivered an outstanding inspirational graduation speech to Wake Forest University students. But one had to wonder what the word salad that a President of the US uttered in the faces of young US army lieutenants about to embark on careers in military service meant to them and their military families. Totally embarrassing, demeaning and not befitting West Point graduates
Your cartoon is spot on. I took a break from social media, writing on Substack, etc., because watching just part of Trump's speech to cadets at West Point made me very upset to the point of crying. I felt so sorry for them and their family members to have him as their Commander-in-Chief. Why didn't someone tell him that wearing his red MAGA hat was so unPresidential and unbecoming of the moment in time to address those cadets? Jake Tapper needs to write a book on Trump and his mental decline, grift, and pardoning criminals almost every day. I love to read, but won't read Tapper's book or any other he writes. Doris Kearns Goodwin, Dan Rather, and others who know history, as well as I, subscribe to Heather Cox Richardson's Substack, among others.
If we can’t rely on the Federal Marshals to support and follow the Constitution what are we to do?

Soros has been undermining governments all around the world for decades. All in for the Dems. Not enough for you?

To make it white again, definitely. I’m waiting for an announcement that we’re annexing Liberia and everyone black is “heading home” next.
Off your meds?

I am trying to find out what it is that has made so many people go woke/insane. Do you know of more fertile ground for my quest?

Thanks, Laura. I really like Pelley, got to meet him when I worked for CBS!

Thank you, Dawn. He doesn't care what is unpresidential, he just cares about what he wants.
Thank you for this very informative post. As clear as your drawings, which always depict the heart of the subject.
Thanks, Danny!
Scott Pelley's speech was amazing. I had tears in my eyes. He deserves a major thanks for the courage to say this on a stage.
We need more people like him, NOW.
More Scott Pelleys! Really love your drawing! It felt good to laugh.
Thank you, Mary.
