Hegseth is a Christian Nationalist and they believe in using force to make the US a Christian nation. This alone should disqualify him as head of the Defense Department. And yet, the media never mentions this. Please email or call your Representative and inform him/her about the importance of this. I think that the Bulwark is contacting politicians about Tuesday's nomination hearings.

The cartoon from the ‘20s is beautiful. How are you feeling? Better I hope.

The horror of the right-wing republicans (I'm purposely not capitalizing the political party to show my disrespect) controlling both houses of Congress and soon, the presidency, is becoming more glaring. The idiotic republicans want to make aid to CA for the wildfires conditional on some shitty notion of their evil minds.

Elaine, excellent comments and true insights into the disaster that awaits us as we await government by the village idiots. How did we let this happen?

Glad you had something fun to work on. Talk about hypocritical. A guy accused of sexual misconduct and heavy drinking wanting the US to be a Christian nation? Say what?

Love the crescendo! And of course Abbott said that. Tennessee's governor Lee is sure to follow suit. There's a name for people like that and it starts with an A and ends with an e.

Great cartoon but It’s the GOP that reaches a crescendo instead of the jury! I love the cartoon because that is the GOP’s distraction right now. More noise! More craziness! Don’t let anyone focus on what we are doing!

What are the women talking about, and does the man feel left out and want in on the conversation? Or is he shy or is he plotting about approaching one of the women? So many stories in one drawing. Distraction isn’t always unfocused.

I agree, Joan. So many possible stories there - it doesn’t need a caption.
