Cartoonists, like you, give a visual representation of important and timely events in the world. Yes you have the right to make up stories, but often the words of characters are not made up. They are created, I think, to enlighten, inform and entertain. Cartoons are quick snapshots of events or people going about living their lives or reacting to events. The fact that Vance feels it is OK to make up stories, promote lies just like Trump, is so unbelievable but it is fact. I wonder what Vance's children are learning from their dad? Maybe that it is OK to tell lies. I follow both you and Heather. Thank you. and all of the cartoonists, and historians. Cartoons, especially political cartoons, have always been a vehicle to record history. I look forward to your drawings and to Heather's posts that give historical perspecitve as well. Thank you .

The problem with all of this, if it weren't so utterly ridiculous, is that they are masters of refocusing. WE SHOULD BE DISCUSSING PROJECT 25, and (yes, I am shouting), not some idiotic ridiculousness about people eating pets or some questionable attacks on Trump. They are redirecting our focus to something inane instead of something so important, it could change the way we live. DON'T FALL FOR IT. Keep the emphasis on Project 25, and on January 6th, when there was, indeed, people killed. Everyone, please keep the focus where it belongs.

When one reflects that Donald Trump was the target of a second assassination attempt within two months, one may well ask who’s actually spreading hatred and fear. Discuss…

Trump and Vance are channeling hate and fear fairly nonstop. Maybe they could hook up generators to their mouths--make 'em useful.

Maybe because he espouses hate and not so subtly encourages violence.

Thomas M Gregg, NO ONE wants Trump to be killed, except, apparently, Republicans. No one who is not a Trump supporter wants him to become a martyr. Because then his followers will keep his hate alive forever. We want our country back. Stop drinking the kool aid. You'll feel much better, I promise.

Given the fact that Trump’s been the target of two assassination attempts, that’s obviously untrue, isn’t it? And, if, as the comrades say, he’s they American Hitler, why wouldn’t they want him dead? That strikes me as a reasonable question.

Wonder what Vance's parishioners make of him. Maybe we can borrow Pence's fly to look in on a service.

tecolote42 thanks for a much needed laugh! It disgusts me how these morons are claiming to be Godly. The only thing that helps is that I have faith that they will be punished for this by God.

You had the best idea. I took Sunday off from politics. And most of today as well. Those dirty rotten weirdo scoundrels pushing lies for political gain and disrupting the lives of people in an otherwise peaceful midwestern town should have consequences for their actions. Good grief how is it possible that anyone could support these reprobates.

Support? No. Pray for them, but for their souls, not their ambitions.

Donald Trump using the word "rhetoric" seems extremely ironic to me. I doubt he even knows what it means. Or maybe one of his underlings actually made that post. And in the dictionary under "hippocrit" there should now be a picture of Vance. These vile men are making me want to leave my country.

Trump says he's protected by God, citing his being saved from assassination attempts twice.

I agree, and would advise him that Hitler was saved at least 24 times before he committed suicide, dragging poor Eva Braun along with him.

Really? Really! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_attempts_on_Adolf_Hitler

The horror I feel from watching what Trump and Vance are doing and saying is overwhelming. Your cartoons definitely help. I love this one. The combination of Heather Cox Richardson's Substack and yours are the best! Thank you!

Also, I just received the signed copy of your Very Funny Ladies book. Thank you so much! I will treasure it!
