I hope wherever you are, there’s some good dog-watching to be had. Happy Saturday! Seeing Things is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
I know, just kidding! We dog moms ask that of other dog parents all the time if the dog is irresistibly cute. Usually mixed! Dogs always lift my day just like your cartoon.
It's probably a heresy in this space, but I am much more interested and loving toward people than I am toward pets. When I see this cartoon, I think, "Isn't it nice that those dogs are out there walking their people!"
We have an elderly Newfoundland living in our building in Manhattan and we all go out of our way to pet Buster if we happen to encounter him; his appreciation is so rewarding. Recently I said to the handler, "are you a new walker?" and she said, "I'm Buster's Mom." Dogs have such powerful personalities, you never really consider that the human with them might be someone of any significance.
Fortunately there are almost more dogs than people in the town on the Oregon coast where we are. My dogs -a Cavalier spaniel and a chihuahua- are the best because I can watch them anytime.
Every day is a good day for dog watching. Thank you. 🐕
you're welcome, and I agree!
Pure NYC
Spot on for we dog owners. Love all those pooches. What breed is that?

I could watch dogs all day and especially my pooch playing with other dogs. Thanks! I loved this cartoon. Made me smile.

Totally, the dogs take over in our minds unless they are an interesting pair!

Lucky you! I wonder what it is about the Oregon coast? I like that.
