I have been watching Atlantic Crossing on PBS. in the third episode members of Sweden's royal family seek refuge in America. as the ship reaches New York we see Lady Liberty and the children ask if they are safe now. let's hope that in the future America will once more be a beacon for those seeking refuge.

Now our only hope for the nation is that at least four Republicans and all the Democratic legislators will disobey "He 34f Who Must Be Obeyed." It's especially tough for the Republicans. They have to balance the weight of their fear of a Republican challenger in their next election against the weight of the actual lives of the poor and the sick. It'll be a tough decision alright. Whadda ya spose the odds are?

Your depiction of the cat in the suitcase is spot on. Cats love suitcases. I think they may figure "if it fits, I sits, and maybe she'll take me along." On a sourer note, I do hope and pray that one more repug will find his/her conscience and vote no. There must be ONE who comes to his/her senses before tis too late.
As always, your sketches make my day. Please don’t give Tillis more credit than he’s due. He’s retiring because he knows he’d be beat in a primary and his chances in a general are almost even. He is looking out for himself as usual. He has done more damage to North Carolina than anyone realizes and is only being “brave” this time for optics. He’s wanting to pad his landing back into the private sector. He is a dyed in the wool right winger, just not as bad as the MAGA wing (which is why they want to primary him). Save your flowers for someone who deserves them.
