I love your material and am happy to be a subscriber. Most weeks I do a non-political (although I agree with your politics) mailing of cartoons and memes, along with commentary, to more than 3 thousand recipients who seem to like the mailing. The idea is just to make people laugh – which is a good thing in these times – and I use a lot of your material, probably more than anyone else’s. So thank you and please keep going!
“Together we will muddle through and change the world and get this country figured out and be its best. We will help each other see and feel and share. I’m ready to go.”
A wonderfully positive plan. Exactly what we need; IMHO. Thank you for sharing your work, thoughts, and your heart. Hope is elusive, but absolutely necessary, and communities like this give me hope.
The newsletter (as a bunch, not just this one) is a real treat. As someone who spent New Years Eve and New Years Day researching 2024 income tax withholding rule changess for the Federal and 40 state governments, which admittedly is a more horrible than usual day for me, finding a missive from you in my email is always a cause to be alert and receptive. A notice that something unusual and good is about to be revealed. What more could I ask?
As always, Liz and us "tag-alongs" offer encouraging words and ways. This site is lovely because it is real and we listen to each other. Liz offers a bit of magic dust and we are on our way. I still find pleasure, and gratitude when Liz' or others send out comments and praise.
Let's remember to find ways to defeat Trump at the polls and to continue to build democratic communities that we will need to face the challenges ahead. And check out MLK's 1968 brilliant speech at Riverside Church. He'll inspire us all (and he was deemed a radical by the NYT and thePost for his words) !!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Positivity" certainly beats "Unprecedented." I am so sick of that word. So much so that I bought a T-shirt that reads, "I miss precented times." So a new year; a new blank slate. Teri Rizvi of Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop posted one of Erma's affirmations, which I promptly printed out and hung on my desk. I hope you don't mind my sharing: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say "I used everything you gave me." My wish for everyone is stay blessed and realize it.
I'll drink to that!!!
Great thoughts for the first day of 2024!
Your varied offerings are a continued source of life, humor and thought for me. Thank you.

What a lovely idea!
You're welcome to join the mailing, just need your email.
Joyce@nounstogo.com. Thanks, Jonathan!
Just sent you the 2023 Year-End mailing. If you ever wish to come off the mailing just let me know and I promise not to be insulted. -- Jon
😄
Nice drawing. Nice comments. Nice being there. Thanks.

Thank you, Liza, for helping us get through this thing.
Thank you for your optimism and enthusiasm!
With you on this next relay, Liza - and delighted to be.

Your Substack is a constant joy!
Love it all. You have become a highlight in my day as we navigate the murky waters of today.
