Hi Liza - I am new to cartooning and did watch and enjoy your zoom drawing sessions - seems so long ago. I appreciate you trying this one out - i have been trying some aging cartoons that are about women wondering about the things you had in your cartoon as well as the change in the external gaze. I prefer that to the age old (literally) jokes making fun of infirmities rather than wondering about them - in a humorous way. My father would say - aging is not for sissies and i remember a quote "aging is a ceremony of losses". It isn't easy but i hope women cartoonists can find a new way of finding the humour. Do have the book "women's glibber" . the anthology from from 1992 edited by Roz Warren. It is fun to look at what has and hasn't changed over the years. thanks for all your great work!
Ha, I'm a few months late to this thread, but I, too, empathize! Ironically, I have a 26-year-old student using "preventative botox" out of future fear. Don't give up the wine!
I love this, and more than empathize. And the cat adds a funny detail.
Well done!!

Love it. I wonder, were any women involved in the decision not to accept it at the New Yorker?

I turned 60 in November. And so did my face.
