These have been around in Nashville, where I live part of the year, for a while. La Paletas are Mexican and there are full fruit and also fruit with cream. Unfortunately, the first authentic Mexican maker, the Paz family, closed their shop and distribution to many other shops when they decided to retire a few years ago. Many good ones but nothing like theirs. And FYI, not to be picky like the rabbit, but the word is spelled artisanal. Maybe if those car dealing looking guys have their sign misspelled, you could clue them in and get a free popsicle! I hope it is wonderful. 😋

That's interesting, I had no idea they were a Mexican delight. Well, these guys spelled it Artesianal, oddly, and I looked it up before drawing it and google spell checked me and I didn't notice it. Ugh. I'm a terrible speller. Well thank you for correcting me, I will fix it!

Also, dessert, unless they were selling exceptional sand. 😊

5 dollars?!? Sounds like a lot. Reading this while home with family in Italy, where 5 dollars gets you 3 gelatos, a huge delicious pizza or 3 cappuccinos 😅

I know!!! It's nuts. Italy is so wonderful on many fronts. Thank you, dear Elena, for the paid subscription! xo

Do you think these guys were just being cheeky? Almost seems like a comedy sketch. Reminds me of the beggars on a Mexican beach I frequent. They walk around with a bottle of cheap tequila to sell by the shot.

I wondered. But a woman I know who is local and very involved in town stuff said they are legit but that they are Trumpers. Signs on vans that say “Go Brandon”. I wonder if they are ridiculing the whole community!

Wait, I should withhold judgement on these two if only because I make “artisanal” soda water with my Soda Stream. I sell it for $10 a glass. I’m sad to say, however, I’ve had no takers. Should I call it organic instead? Free of impurities (except from the tap water)?
