Excellent drawing, Liza. This could very well depict the trial. The prosecution is methodically ‘germinating’ their case, and the defense attorney, standing there drinking their coffee have nothing to do but drink coffee.
What a fun cartoon! Even the windows in the surrounding buildings look like they are germinating! I will never again be able to see that word and not think of your wonderful cartoon!
This is such a great cartoon: emphasis on an additional dimension of the word “germinating”. I spent today both germinating the update of TFG’s trial and the Supreme’s performance yesterday as well as seeds in the garden. Thank you for your philosophical approach to cartooning!
This is good for me as it reminds me I have to stop germinating and get on to the business of writing. Oh, and my husband picked up a huge book at the local library sale, out in 2024, of all of The New Yorker cartoons, and it comes complete with CDs. Of course, you're in there many times. I LOL at the one cartoon: twas a mouse in a cage smoking cigarettes and announcing it was his 200 and something pack. Gardening is good for the soul. But very rocky in my neck of the woods. Enjoy.

Thanks, Shawn! Philosophy and humor equals fun.

With respect to too many seeds germinating, I recommend abortion.
Germinate suggest to me a word I like, seedling....
Love it.
