I like the cropped version better because you said you were photographing people doing things in the summer. The other version emphasizes architecture, not people. Ok?

Great set of photos, Liza, I do like the top one because of the grandeur of the stained glass windows... Yes, beastly hot, hit 92 here in Vermont and humid. So it goes. Trumps is insane and will say anything to anyone or country to divert any responsibility. We need an entirely new government, from the judiciary on down. Perhaps Greenland will offer to govern us!

I think the photo looks better cropped. Cant' say why. Thanks for the info about the maybe ceasefire. I find myself completely divided---I don't want a war with Iran and so (although the US isn't mentioned) I'm assuming the ceasefire would apply to the US, as well--a good thing. On the other hand, I can't bring myself to applaud anything Trump does---and so I am torn. Really liked the guy sleeping on the concrete bench.

I am totally feeling the same. Very anti war , but anti the Iranian regime and nukes. Ugh.

Liz, these photos are uplifting and colorful. They totally did the trick for me who am distraught and blue and frustrated enough to write my congressman. But these photos need no captions other than “happiness in daily life.” Thank you.

P.S. the whole building not cropped :)

He sets things up....then he "fixes" them. All strategic moves. He wants the peace prize so badly....This is like a really really bad day-time soap....only problem is real people are getting killed.

More unremarkable phone camera street scenes? Comments letting us know you’re tired and don’t know what to write about? The posting of old cartoons in place of fresh new drawings based on current events? Seems like you might be suffering from burn-out. While such a state is understandable and many may be experiencing similar symptoms, I miss the spunk and spirit - as well as the clever pithy cartooning you were sharing with us in the run-up prior to Trump’s election. We have a battle to fight and the stakes could not be higher!

Everything looks better when it's cropped especially if it's Trump's face and all you see are the tip of his nose.

Maybe it's because I'm an ex New Yorker but I wouldn't crop a thing (also a photographer) because I like the extra detail of surroundings, especially when you're giving us your walk around versions instead of something for a photo gallery, when actually that would be okay with me too :-)

Some very cool shots.

The crop is very good, but I also like the full frame. Good saturation.

The rainbow flowing down towards the man sleeping on the concrete barrier is a keeper.

The Eats on 48 shot is a good street scene, with the child atop the father's shoulders, and the seemingly posed woman caught mid-stride.

Your pictures are great, so far as I am concerned. The first one is the establishing shot. I love the elements, especially the red door and the stained glass lit from within. The crop gets in close and lets us see the details. I am really impressed with your last picture, with that spectacular rainbow door canopy leading down to the man sleeping on -- what? --- it says NYPD. Spectacular "street."
