Your lighting is fine, I like it and I'm picky. Creative arts lighting can be more dramatic than news, public affairs, etc. The link below is an example from the Masterclass series, the main difference is a strategic splash of light on the books behind him to the side. It works well with his depth of field. You don't need all the quick cuts and b-roll .... he's talking about his work, you're creating art in "real time!" LOVE it, look forward to your posts every day. Particularly cats and clouds. https://youtu.be/vy9b-L7uKqk?si=Q-Q0rNsWfQS1kOWO
What a pleasure watching you work. Again, sending this to the young artists in my life - who have opined they love them. Pastels are dear to me - for a time they were my favorite medium. Love this and look forward to more!
Yay, animals!! Thank you, Liza. I’m in Austin, TX, watching the Ken Paxton impeachment hearing, and I *really* needed a break with your calming creatures.
I shared your post with my niece (senior year, majoring in art education) and she replied that she’s taking an illustration class & right now they’re working on cartooning. Serendipity, hey?
C A T! Other than my husband and Macon Villages white wine, I love cats. Great choice. A nice, big, fat fur baby. Love it. Looks like my black cat Nolan Nolan.
I know that when a day goes bad , drawing enhances the mood. It washes away many things. Valiant. The real thing is truth, and truth is life lived honestly. Bravo. Loved the big fat cat with dots.
I personally put honesty above other virtues. The way we show ourselves to others is sometimes such a mascarade!. A little truth here and there helps to understand each other and live fuller lives. NAMASTE
Loved this post, Liza. I can’t tell you how valuable and instructive it is for an unsure and self-doubting artist to see such an accomplished “peer” just put herself out there and let us watch the process. Thank you
What again is fascinating, is that you don’t necessarily know where the drawing is going. And a lesson for all of us about being creative. I did try once to make a drawing and just started. It was just okay but it was a start and I need to do it more. It is really just for my pleasure and mental gymnastics. So, thanks,
Thank you for this post Liza! I too was having a day - bad in my head not to mention some bad in reality. Watching your creative process unfold with you daring greatly by sharing it with us is awe inspiring. I appreciate your openness and authenticity. Taking a few minutes to settle my nerves and watch you draw helped get me out of my head and gain some much needed perspective. 💗
I am glad to hear I helped in some way, Deanna. I was in such a cranky mood, I said to myself, just DRAW. Maybe it will help you and others watching. Getting out of one's head is so good.
This clip is fabulous, Liza! With both the camera's now strategically angled to capture the artist and the action, I just found myself relaxing into the scene. I enjoyed 'watching' your internal monologue play out ("... like we did in school..." & "these were a gift..."); your facial expressions, and your unconscious hand movements. As the cat evolved, big and bold, I was amused at its revealing expression... and the colorful companion it elicited. Thank you!
Thank you, D.L! I am not aware of what I am projecting, so your comments are helpful. I'm also trying to be a litle less careful in front of the camera. Because, heck, who wants that?

Thank you! Just this morning, I thought I should splash light on the books, so your comment supports my thinking.

We all have these (those?) days 😊 Thank you for being so real. And sometimes we all need to go big 🥳

Thank you! That must be a stressful thing to watch, glad I could be an antidote!

Thanks, I like the non-script format.
I admire your guts to draw live. A lot more guts than I have.
The heat definitely gave today an off kilter vibe. 🤪 Love this video. Such adorable animals, magically emerging from a giant jar of goop!
Thanks Philip!

I love this. It’s sweet & restful to watch. Just the thing after a hot, trying week. Thank you, Liza!
So glad, Linda! Thank you!

I love what you say, truth is life lived honestly.

You are welcome! Planning is hard, winging it is fun and can be liberating
As always, it’s magical to see you transform something that’s in your head to paper. Thank you for letting us watch! Also-love the big fat cats!!
Thanks!

I say, remain unaware. YOU are your selling point... and a ver good one at that!
I don’t know what was more beautiful to watch. Your drawing or your face!! Thanks again!
You're very kind! Thanks:)
