Love this drawing!! The idea of reading into things is the very essence of how art works, isn’t it — and a mirror for all human communication, too, I think.

(Also since you mention looking for a cinematographer — I know a very good one who is skilled w/ documentaries: https://joe-a.com/documentaries)

Political, smolitical! That's not nearly as important as the window it opens on how we humans spin actions and events. These days, spin seems like it is everything...oh, wait. Sorry. That's political, isn't it.

Wonderful drawing. Thank you.

well, according to the NYT editor, the choice between democracy and autocracy is "political" and it shouldn't be anything but impartial for fear of taking a political side.

Can you do one of a dog squatting over todays NY Times?

I, too, love this. Spot on with depicting how we are always in our own heads assuming the worse. I guess anything can be construed as political, which, again, shows how we are in our own heads and reading our own insecurities into everything.

I'm not sure there's any fundamental difference in relations between pets and in politics (or between armies) when it comes to competition, real or imagined. Though there is competition in the vegetable world, too, we animals pretty much all share reactions to other beasts that probably come form similar or actually shared brain structures and hormonal influences. Whether beetles or angels, we're all in the same boat, more or less. It's not "just" drawing, seems to me.
