I’m a third of the way through Tapper and Thompson’s book, “Original Sin.” The number of people who saw clearly that Biden was losing his marbles and said nothing about it is just staggering. White House staffers, Members of Congress, Democratic Party officials, campaign operatives, donors, journalists—with very few exceptions, they saw, were appalled, and yet said nothing. And you know what? All that denial, all that gaslighting and lying, facilitated the Trump restoration. That’s what is known as an irony of history: They got what they were trying to prevent.
