Many of us are on this site Liza because you exemplify strength and heart (and artistic talent). And spurred by you--we treat each other with care and kindness.
It's ok to feel grave difficulties. Trump is a fascist and many, somehow, are drawn to his sad mix of power and violence.
So we reach out to each others (and birds) and keep at it. Win or loose Trumpism will remain. We must find ways to build community and transform hate, racism, toxic heterosexism and the many other divides before us. These barriers are not new and have characterized this country for decades. Social media amplifies these divides and the hate seem to surround us.
We must reach out to others. I'll borrow the phrase others have championed:"We are the leaders we are looking for...!!"
Freedom to choose … that’s what T will take away from each .. in different ways..
To give up this freedom under such circumstances … I’d leap I think … right here w afternoon setting sun turning the few leaves left on the dogwood into brilliant happy oranges, reds, even mustards…
Such an interesting cartoon. I can't decide if the girl wants the bird to catch her or if the bird wants the girl to catch her as she tries to fly.....
I like the impossibility of the choice to escape the precipice… the tiny bird will fly away, possibly squawking fearsome sounds of distress at my choice to jump, or even attempt to slide down the wall … and I will be screaming …
Or true to my current aging amazement, & desire for self-sufficiency, I will look back first to see if a helper has arrived to usher me back to safety.. or in some other era another person has left a long thick, coiled & knotted rope that affords me safe, slow,
Descent to Valhalla at the bottom… w the savior bird alighting quietly as I arrive safely on flat firm ground …. Ah fantasy… gift of my gods & goddesses .. ***(conundrum: one or two d’s & s’s ***)
Please do enjoy family and the gorgeous weather. You deserve it after what you've been through reporting on the orange man's shenanigans. We have storms up ahead, so cherish your time. I believe the cartoon character can be caught and carried to safety by the little bird. Good things come in small packages. Anything is possible if you believe. I believe.
Sometimes to abandon the safety net and leap into the void is the only way. I'm game if you are Liza!
Let's go!
Bring it on, baby! I am ready to be a resistor.

I don’t have a lot of fight left in me..

My thoughts exactly :)
Such interesting unknown times we are in..just like the character. I truly feel this is the time good will win and we will fly!
You betcha.
Oh. man... great take on the range of possible feelings we share at the present. Still hopeful and optimistic, but damn,

One of the possible lessons might be to pause...avoid hurrying
only if the wind is beneath the wings. Get out there and BLOW, folks.
This is really poignant. Sometimes a very small being (or act or choice) does save us.

I think I’m the person the ledge! Have a great visit the next few days!
Thank you for your insight and artistic ability to put thoughts to drawings..time to rest..time to leap..then to fly..
