Jean Carroll was in my HS Class. We were not friends, she was with a whole other group of kids that came from a different Jr High. She was very popular and in many activities. I was so happy with the verdict. I think it’ll be a miracle if she can collect any award $.

I met her once, right before the trial. We knew of each other in 1980's NYC. I can imagine that while she'd like the money, it's not the main thing.

Just want encourage anyone who can afford it to donate to a relief organization via your link. I'm so sad and sorry for all that's happened there and all the people in need. Also, I hope the RICO indictment sticks with a minimum 5 year jail term.

The New Yorker won’t do press credentials for you? I want to see Steve Kornacki do a Big Board presentation live during the trial. Now THAT would be awesome. #TrackingKornacki

Liza, your cloud cartoon makes me laugh. I worked with a cat rescue group for 20+ years, and one of the first things we passed along to new volunteers was “Don’t stare at a cat. Cats perceive it as aggressive & threatening.” Now when I stare at a cloud or a tree or a flower, I’ll be thinking of your cartoon! (But of course, I never stare at a cat.😳)

SO glad you like it! Staring is so odd, and so rude really. I never thought about it re cats, however!

I gave to the Hawaii Human Society and hope others will, too, so as not to forget the animals. As for the orange man, that will certainly be interesting...him having to be in court every day.

Thank you for your engaging and honest words, emotions and drawings. I remind myself Trump is anger and lies. Blessings to Fanni Willis and the thousands of Black women and men who have given their lives over the last century to protect the right to vote. Their courage and actions make me hopeful and is a gift we should all appreciate.

So well said, bob. Thank you. It's very true how many Black Americans are dedicated to our system.

For live drawing the trial in Georgia - ask the NYer to assign you. A chance of possibility!

In the current climate, indictment equates to guilt. Is that the standard to be exalted by “our democracy”? If it is, then “our democracy” is already defunct. Trump may be a bad man—as I believe he is—but subverting the rule of law to destroy him will set in motion the final destruction of our constitutional republic. Maybe there are people who think that such destruction would be a good thing. Who gives a crap about the “Star-Spangled Banner,” after all? Well, perhaps more people than you may think. And not all of them live in trailer parks…

The Carroll trial should be an excellent reference. That will be beyond Mega if D must be there every day.

I see the NYer won't do it - can you do it for a different pub or website?

Back again briefly. Trump does matter; his power and pernicious lies infect many. But the real work is to build more equitable lives and communities for all. White supremacy or power must be seen and challenged. Whites must reach out to communities of color and combat white power in all its dimensions. Liza's art is a wonderful tool for change. We must build the world we all so desperately need.

Yes, we really need to speak out, every one of us. Call it like it is. And thank you for saying that, I hope I can make a difference.
