With clown car trick, it's the egress that is funny. Not the ingress. This will hold true for Trump's second term, just as did for his first, I suspect. (Really, I just wanted to use those two words.)

Thank you for reading the information that I just can’t stomach in it’s raw state - with your words surrounding the meh it makes it palatable.

I've turned off the television to save my sanity. The term so widely used during this election cycle rings true about msm/cable news: "word salad". I follow you, Robert Reich and Heather Cox RIchardson to stay informed until I can take on more. I've joined the ACLU and Planned Parenthood and will get involved in my local and regional community. I am fortunate to live in a wonderful blue state, Oregon and am thankful for all our blue state governors who are being pro-active and setting up fortifications. Finally....go BLUESKY! Love the name! Stokes such a positive image and it's BLUE!

I just can't think about this for too long at a time. Too upsetting.

Let’s think a bit. Trump has chosen a woman as his chief of staff, and will be nominating a woman for the post of UN Ambassador. Also, he will be nominating a Latino to serve as Secretary of State.

Liza, thank you for seeing humor in tragedy. A big part of Democrats losing is the decades of lies and misinformation from the RRR, (radical right radio) that has poisoned the minds of red America.

All things being said, the days after the election results, in my small West Coast blue city, the YMCA has been packed. Does this reflect the great need to burn off our personal furies?

My respite has always been movies. Forget it Jake, it’s Chinatown, as we all walk off to nourish music.

I meant noir - ish although music can nourish us, too.

Very very very sad today. I find nothing funny either.

Tis really very very scary. I have given up my all-day pbs radio; no evening news.... have to listen to CDs and music stations. And still it seeps in. I heard he gave a position to the dog shooter. Oh Lord, save us. Is there no one to stop him? That's what really scares me. Thank you so much for keeping us informed. You're the only one I read...you and Borowitz....and I thank God for you and your insight.

Trump is playing with lives. He is also playing Simon Says. As long as people follow him, have done and will do what he says we will lose the game if we don't. So, many are trying to get inside the clown car to get close to the driver - and Elon Musk has the car, so to speak, to make it all possible. Don't really know what I'm saying but Trump is a dangerous ringleader of the circus and the clowns aren't funny. Scary times ahead. Where will the clown car go? Who and what will it run over and not even think twice about stopping to see the damage. It will be full speed ahead!

I'm tired and done fighting. Give them what they want. Trump. You deserve who you vote for and America? Have at it. For the time being, I'm checked out. No news, no papers. Yes sure, keeping an eye on whats going on is important but in reality, what difference does it make? THEY voted FOR the creature. He walks free of crimes and accountability regardless.

Knowledge is power, but so is faith. Without the pesky paranoia.

Trust, belief, faith. Look up any one of them in a thesaurus and you'll find the other two.
